Courses offered by Sea to Sky Kayaking School (leaders in innovation and body dynamics)
- Courses may include pool time if necessary

DATES
Full day Courses are available on Saturdays and Sundays from April to October. Tune-Up and Playboating Courses scheduling demands appropriate water levels. Midweek Course dates can be pre-arranged. Call or e-mail for information on availability of dates in advance.

INTRO TO PADDLING (two hour course $49 Level 1 and $59 Level 2)
Level 1: An Instructor will guide you through everything you need to know to get on the water and make sure you are comfortable with your first kayak experience and having fun.
Level 2: Learn the skills to make tandem and solo rescues and the theory of safety on water. pre-requisite level 1.

OPEN WATER (full day course $110)
This is the Level 1 & 2 course plus more - This course is designed for those who have limited kayaking experience and want to get out on open water. If you are interested more in Sea Kayaking or Recreational paddling and want to learn all about the equipment, safety and rescue skills, proper paddling technique and take part in a guided tour this trip is for you. Wildlife, birds and plant life abound on this journey in spectacular surroundings. Your experienced guide/instructor will be able to answer any questions about gear, storage, tripping or other things of interest.

FIRST STROKES (full day course $140)
This is the starting point for all Sea or Whitewater kayakers. You will be introduced to the "Balanced Concept" of paddling and will achieve a strong foundation enabling you to kayak safely, confidently and "In Balance". Several self and assisted rescue maneuvers are covered as well as forward, corrective, and turning strokes. The fundamentals of rolling a kayak are taught enabling you to progress to the next course level which is the Rolling and Skills Course. This course is taught in a river kayak. All skills learned can be transferred to other types of paddling and is a more adventurous and challenging course than the Open Water Course.
This course is offered almost every weekend. Call for avaliability.

ROLLING & SKILLS (full day course $140)
You will learn why the "Sea to Sky Roll" is the roll of choice. Relying on technique, not strength, the "Sea to Sky Roll" is a fast, powerful roll that allows the paddler to finish "In Balance" and does not put stress on the shoulder. This roll will give you the confidence to Go For It! Upgrade your skills with expert instruction and video analysis. This course is offered May 25th, June 8th, June 15th.

WHITEWATER DAYS (full day courses - $140 per day)
Day 1: Your first day on moving water will include Rolling review followed by your first peel outs and eddy turns.
Day 2: You will experience the thrill of your first whitewater river run. We'll have you spinning, turning, ferrying, rolling, laughing, and asking for more. Video analysis of your roll, turns, and stroke technique are included both days.
We are planning on having whitewater days on May 24, June 14, call for further dates.

SATURDAY NIGHT POOL SESSIONS AT THE WEST VANCOUVER AQUATIC CENTER
For those of you looking for some extra pool time to practice your skills, the popular Saturday night pool sessions are back on. The time is from 7:30 – 9:30 pm at the West Vancouver Aquatic Center located at 22 nd and Marine Drive in West Vancouver . This is a great opportunity for you to practice the skills you learned from us this year. You will solidify your roll and gain confidence before getting on your next river run. Our staff is always in the water to instruct and assist you every night. For those people that have not taken lessons from Sea to Sky Kayak Center and want to start learning our proven rolling systems, then this is a perfect time to sign up for a lesson to get acquainted with the “SEA TO SKY ROLL”.
If you are a Sea Kayaker and want to do your first wet exits and re-entries, this is a great time to do this before your next paddling adventure. If you are interested in progressing to learn how to roll, this will be a simple progression. Be Prepared – improve your skills.
We bring all the equipment you will need so all you have to do is register and wear some shorts/bathing suit.

TUNE-UP (full day course $125)
Get tuned in again with this refresher course. Feel confident again! Review of "Sea to Sky Roll" technique, paddling "In Balance", surfing, and using river dynamics. This course is great if you have been away from paddling for a while or if you are just looking for that extra bit of confidence.

PLAYBOATING (full day course $95)
You will learn the connected progressions of cartwheels and flatspins, basics of stern squirting, and a hand or rodeo roll. Watch you progression on video. A wide range of rodeo boats are available at the Center for demo during this course.

Weekday clinics ongoing – call for schedule

RIVER RESCUE 101 (full day course $110)
Day 1: This course will focus on hands on use of the latest in gear and rescue techniques designed for quick recovery.
Day 2: Group dynamics and leadership roles in live rescue situations. All students will receive suggested rescue equipment list and student discount.
Our next rescue course is on Saturday June 7th 2008.
